EQDB is a member-supported service of Scientech, operated under license from EPRI. EQDB is an Internet-accessible source of regulatory and reference documents, component information, engineering analyses, and materials data that help EQ engineers confirm the safe functionality of electrical and mechanical equipment under a spectrum of nuclear plant operating environments.
EQDB is the principal technical clearing-house of such information, and is routinely used by EQ engineers in the U.S. and in many nations around the world to assure safety of critical equipment. EQDB also helps nuclear power stay economically competitive with other energy sources by reducing EQ costs. EQDB routinely enables EQ engineers to avoid unnecessary component testing and analysis, and unnecessary equipment replacement.
The cost/benefits of EQDB will be even more apparent in the future as EQ activities expand to support license renewal and power d applications. Any organization may subscribe to EQDB services, but preferential member rates are available to EPRI member utilities. Full or Associate membership is available to non-utilities.
