Scientech's NUSI product line solves the problem of obsolete process control instrumentation commonly found in Westinghouse and General Electric nuclear power (NSSS) plants. Solutions include reverse engineering, repairing or refurbishing, and re-engineering obsolete instruments to provide superior performance while maintaining the same form, fit, and function of the original equipment.
- Replacement instrumentation for Westinghouse NSSS plants
- Replacement instrumentation for General Electric NSSS plants
- Class 1E Isolators
- Re-engineering and fabricating obsolete instrumentation
- Repairing and refurbishing safety-related instrumentation from any vendor
- Training services for NUSI instrumentation
Replacement instrumentation includes:
- Electronic Instruments
- Hagan 7100 Modules (for Westinghouse NSSS plants)
- Foxboro H-Line Modules (for Westinghouse NSSS plants)
- Bailey 7000 Modules (for General Electric NSSS plants)
- GE/MAC Modules (for General Electric NSSS plants)
Scientech inspects, tests, and certifies all instrumentation to provide the same form, fit, and function as the original equipment. These modules are designed and qualified for Class 1E and non-Class 1E use.
Scientech maintains a Quality Assurance Program that meets the requirements of 10 CFR 50, Appendix B, ANSI N45.2, and ASME NQA-1 and accepts responsibility for 10 CFR Part 21 reporting.
Refurbishing/Replication and Redesign conform to the following applicable standards and guidelines:
- IEEE-323-1974 and 1983 - Qualification of Class 1E Equipment for Nuclear Power Generating Stations
- IEEE-344-1975 and 1987 - Recommended Practice for Seismic Qualification of Class 1E Equipment for Nuclear Power Generating Stations
- IEEE-934-1987 - Standard Requirements for Replacement Parts for Class 1E Equipment in Nuclear Power Generating Stations
- EPRI-N-5652 - Guideline for Utilization of Commercial Grade Items in Nuclear Safety Related Applications
